Welcome Mathol Racing! One of the major and successful VLN and Rundstrecken-Challenge Nürburgring (RCN) teams will enter the TMG GT86 Cup 2016. The team from Diez an der Lahn in Hessen is named after its boss, Matthias Holle, and has taken part in Nürburgring endurance races since its foundation in 2007. Last year, the team won the V6 and SP10 VLN class once again, and its successes include the RCN team and driver championship in 2013. “We are still working on a VLN win as such,” says a smiling Holle.
Matthias Holle started at the end of the 90s as a driver and until 2006 also took part in the VLN, since when he has focused upon his work as Mathol Racing’s managing director and boss. “The TMG GT86 Cup is an opportunity for us to widen our commitment and be active with Nordschleife licence B drivers in a cost-efficient segment,” says Alex Fielenbach, a Mathol Racing team organiser. “The TMG GT86 Cup gives you everything but at a good price.“ The team wants to field one or two TMG GT86 Cup cars, with a decision on drivers still pending.
The VLN season starts on 2 April. TMG participates for the fourth time in a row, and the teams will be able to have test-and-tune sessions on the Nürburgring on 19 March.
Nico Ehlert, Principal Engineer customer motorsports: “We are very glad that a top team like Mathol-Racing takes part in our cup. I’m pretty sure that Matthias Holle’s experienced and successful team will be able to go for a win, although our established teams won’t make it easy for them.“
