The VLN’s new season, and thus the TMG GT86 Cup’s 4th season, starts on 2 April. The TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH’s attractive brand cup has become popular among VLN fans featuring exciting races and racers exactly geared to conditions on the Nordschleife, the famous “Green Hell”.
VLN teams also know that the TMG GT86 Cup provides high-end motorsports at low-end prices. Take the team bosses Uwe Kleen (45) and his brother Meino (46), for example, who over the past three years were the overall winners in the VLN SP8 class. “At the moment, this cup probably provides the best price-performance ratio in all of the VLN,“ says Uwe Kleen. “And all drivers are top drivers, which indicates that all the cars are fully up to scratch and driving skills are decisive.“ And that is why the team from Boxberg, near the Nürburgring, has decided to enter the cup. The drivers are the young and talented Nils Jung and Florian Wolf, in 2015 still with Dörr Motorsport and ranked third twice.
The Ring Racing team is very experienced. Some guest starts in the cup aside, the Kleen Bros. team was responsible for all the Toyota Swiss Racing team’s preparation, which it will be again this season. But Uwe Kleen sees no conflict of interest here: “We want all the four drivers to cooperate while giving their all for their respective team. Rivalry should always come with fairness.”
