TMG GT86 Cup race 5: Preliminary results

After the 5th TMG GT86 Cup race, part of the VLN, Team Dörr Motorsport can only jubilate under reserve: while after a turbulent race the TMG GT86 CS-V3 with number 534 had been the first in its class to cross the finish line, a number of drivers filed a protest in various classes and the final result will only be announced over the next few days. Still, drivers Maciej Dreszer (Aachen), Arne Hoffmeister (Lutter) and Fabian Wrabetz (Bad Soden) are quite happy, as is team manager Uwe Isert: “No problems, no scratches and all drivers in perfect form,” was his conclusion. It was once again shown that the TMG GT86 CS-V3 is an extremely dependable car. And this although the conditions were far from easy. The Green Hell lived up to its name with very changeable weather. “Too dry for rain tyres, too wet for slicks,” Isert said.

The weather aside, other factors also meant trouble in all classes. After the training, penalties were imposed on a number of drivers, which in connection with the ensuing protests meant a late start and a shorter race. The 54. ADAC Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennen started 2 hours late, a 1405 hrs, ending 165 minutes later.

In the TMG GT86 Cup, the Teams AMC Sankt Vith car, number 531, ranked second. The registered drivers were Olivier Muytjens (Belgium), Brody (Belgium), Bruno Barbaro (Italy) and Kurt Dujardin (Belgium). Third was the Toyota Swiss Racing Team with Roland Schmid (Switzerland), Werner Schmid (Switzerland) and Roger Vögeli (Switzerland).

It remains to be seen if the preliminary results will be also be the final results. In any case, the TMG GT86 Cup remains an exciting event this season. We will announce a new ranking and overall ranking over the next few days. The next TMG GT86 Cup race, the 6th, will be part of the 37. RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen and take place on 02 August.

Nico Ehlert, Principal Engineer Customer Motorsport: “We are very content with the season thus far. Even though the results are preliminary, this racer’s dependability has been proven once again. The TMG GT86 Cup is a fascinating motorsports event in its second year as well. An attractive car, an excellent field of drivers and exciting races are what has characterised the first half of our cup. We are pleased that the optimised 2014 TMG GT86 CS-V3 is once again an excellent basis for motorsport fans to pursue their hobby on one of the most beautiful race tracks there is and at a good price-performance ratio at that.“
