Before Le Mans Test Day this Sunday, the twoTS030 HYBRIDs of TOYOTA Racing made their first public appearance. In front of the fans, the two LMP1s went to the technical scrutineering during a busy day.
The day began with a go-kart race organized by ACO at the Alain Prost Le Mans circuit. Four TOYOTA Racing drivers were on driver duties – Nicolas Lapierre and Kazuki Nakajima for car #7, Anthony Davidson and Sébastien Buemi for car #8 – all driving in pairs alongside with journalists. Anthony Davidson started from pole and stayed in the lead until mid-race ith team-mate Sébastien Buemi behind him. After the journalists’ stint, Anthony won the race with Andrew Cotton; a nice way to start the Test Da y.
After several media meetings, drivers went to administrative checks: overalls and drivers’ equipment have been verified. At the same time, the two TS030 HYBRIDs went through the pitlane to satisfy technical scrutineering: size of the car, weight, engine, systems and security have been checked by technical stewards.
Car #7 then went to starting/finish line for group photo shoot with the other cars of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2012.
Saturday finished with a pit-stop training for both of the line-up. Mechanics will now make the final preparations on the two cars before Le Mans Test Day.
