This TMG GT86 Cup season Arne Hoffmeister and Fabian Wrabetz simply couldn’t be beaten. The Dörr-Motorsport duo dominated all valid races in 2015 and won for the seventh time in a row. For the third time in a row Kevin and Wolfgang Hönscheid (WH-Motorsport) ranked second. Third were Manuel Amweg and Thomas Lampert of the Toyota Swiss Racing Team.
The Hoffmeister/Wrabetz duo leads the cup table with the maximum score of 140 and after its triumph last year is already this year’s winner too. While theoretically the Hönscheid father-son duo could still catch up with them in terms of points , Hoffmeister/Wrabetz would still be champions because of the larger number of race wins. Incidentally, Hoffmeister/Wrabetz also defended their third rank in the VLN table.
“Pole position, the fastest lap, race won and the early championship: It was really a perfect day for us,” observed Uwe Isert, Dörr-Motorsport’s team manager. “When we will be getting home tonight, we will certainly have a beer or two to celebrate.” “Today, it all went according to plan,” said Arne Hoffmeister after the race. “The foundation stone had been our best time during practice. In the beginning, I was stuck between two BMWs, but then I got free and was able to extend our lead.“ And for his teammate Fabian Wrabetz it was also “a great race. The car was perfect.“
Nico Ehlert, Principal Engineer Customer Motorsport: “Arne Hoffmeister, Fabian Wrabetz and their team, Dörr-Motorsport, have had a perfect season. They fully deserve the early TMG GT86 Cup championship. It was really a great performance. The entire Toyota Motorsport team congratulates them.“
