- Hermann Gassner Jr leads with 179 points
- The winner will receive 35,000 euros in prize money and a Toyota C-HR
- Numerous participants in various championships hunting Trophy points
With two first places in the class R2/R3, at the AvD-Sachsen-Rallye and the 48th ADAC Stemweder Berg Rallye, Hermann Gassner Jr currently heads the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Trophy 2018 standings. That leaves him 55 points clear of second-placed Alex Fielenbach, who was able to score important points in his GT86 CS-V3 in RCN and VLN races at the Nürburgring. His 124 points put him just ahead of the third-placed Team Pit Lane – AMC Saint Vith from Belgium, with 115 points. However, “Brody”, Jacques Derenne and Olivier Muytjens have so far completed fewer events than Alex Fielenbach and Hermann Gassner Jr.
By the end of the season, all participants in the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Trophy will be able to bank their 10 best results – but at least five results will be required. The winner receives 35,000 euros and a Toyota Germany-provided Toyota C-HR. Second place earns 25,000 euros, while the third place is rewarded with 20,000 euros.
Florian von Hasselbach, Senior Engineer Customer Motorsport at TMG, said: “So far we are very satisfied with the progress of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Trophy. The participants regularly earn points and enjoy the additional competition across different disciplines in the Trophy rankings. Additionally, all TMG’s GT86 car types are represented in the top three. The season is far from over and there are still some highlights on the program. The GT86 CS-Cup and the GT86 CS-V3 will compete in the ROWE 6-Hour ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen as part of the VLN while the GT86 CS-R3 has to prove itself at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland.”
